SOUND RITUAL

"Eagerly you rush through the dark space. You push through the crowd, make a quick turn right and then left. You refuse to spend an extra minute in this state of mind. Then you’ll see. You hit something else. Loud, calm, soothing. For a second, you forget the adrenaline of the morning.

You stop and scan the code. You select the first visually appealing profile and press play on their latest recorded track. With a soothing feeling in your ears, you continue to follow your day.”

The aim of the project is to provide audio visual experience in an accessible and benign way modified for daily usage. Proposed ritual serves as a temporary disconnection from everyday grind and redirection of the mind to space of ease.

By offering both medias_ audio and visual_ on their own we are creating a space for the users to engage with the music and performers and be masters of their ritual. Therefore we propose this ritual to be played out in form of sound art residencies to be presented both in online and offline context.

DIGITAL PLATFORM







Scale S - The Digital platform is an online 24/7 accessible website that would display all essential information:


 *artist  profiles of our residents
*live broadcast of resident´s performances
*programme/ detailed info about upcoming residents and their events  
*chat room for facilitation of artist - consumer engagenment
*catalogue of sound linked products such as headphone holder, listening chair, lamps...














Product catalogue 

 One part of the S-scale implementation is a product catalogue featuring our own designs of sound-linked furniture and accessories. These items are used to furnish the Broadcast Booth, functioning as tools for music production and listening during pop-up events, and are also available for purchase on our digital platform.

BROADCAST BOOTH






Scale M – The Broadcast Booth is the essence of Sound ritual project that would serve as a physical platform for art residencies, hosting sound sessions and workshops.

*formerly operated as kiosk
*in poor state: marred with graffiti, signs of neglect
*amenities - electricity, lighting, ventilation, sprinklers,

*possibility of hosting up to three artists at  the same time - facilitation of inter artists collaboration
*functioning as a creative space to broadcast from, host events, lead workshops and so on - according to artist´s preferences

EVENTS ORGANISATION






Scale L – Event Organisation represents the third and final mode of implementing the Sound Ritual project. It denotes a pop-up framework of sound-driven happenings unfolding at various locations throughout Prague.
